Revelation v.s. Information: Part 3

REVELATION of the Release and Overflow of the Living Waters of God’s Spirit from within our hearts… brings forth LIFE!

Information became revelation when I repented from living my life separate from Him and “doing what was right in my own eyes.”  In surrendering my life into His loving Hands, I then knew what Acts 2:36-38 spoke of: “Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, who you crucified, BOTH Lord and Christ! Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, ‘Men and brethren, what shall we do?’ Then Peter said to them, ‘REPENT and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for he remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit!”

Because I made the spiritual decision to allow Jesus to be the Lord and Master of my life, I began to be objective, teachable and open to the Holy Spirit that I had received.  I had “awakened” to God as a Spirit, and I began to worship Him “in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:24)  My early training had given me information about “parts” of the process of following Jesus, but when I obeyed the biblical call listed above for salvation, I was not only “alive” unto God, but then being “awake” to the realm of the Spirit in which He abides, I began to see and hear into that realm.

Because I hungered and thirsted for righteousness, revelation overtook information! Things in the Bible that had once seemed to be hidden and covered and I could not understand…became “uncovered” to me. God revealed them!  I could see and understand. “Once I was blind…but now I see!” (John 9:25)

Where once I was dull of “hearing” God’s Voice speak to me personally, I could then hear with the ears of my spirit because the Bible was no longer just information to me. It was now being increasingly revealed as I remained faithful to seek the Lord in study and in prayer.

Spiritual truth is revealed to the heart. Then, from a full heart, it rises to head, we break through confusion…and we understand. We can know things in their right relationship.  When this happens,  we can verbalize it and even see the fruit of it in our natural surroundings. It becomes visible.  At this point…Heavenly revelation becomes….earthly reality!

Hunger for God’s Word to be revelation  and reality to your heart!

Jesus spoke and said, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled!” (Matthew 5:6) He longs for His people to be filled with the knowledge of His will; and as each one hungers and thirsts for His righteousness, His promise is that we shall be filled and overflowing with His Living Water!  Being a continual water fountain of God’s life-giving water is not only refreshing for you…but to those who will receive of that living water – through you – as a result of your obedience.

Throughout the ages, the subject of spiritual salvation has often been a controversial one because the enemy of our souls wants it to be so. And sad to say, man has often obliged him. Yet, the Gospel message is clear and simple, and Jesus gave His life so that all men everywhere may be saved from the sin nature that damns them. In the Bible, we not only find simple instructions, but also are shown in the book of Acts how people first became Christians.

As a teacher, I carry a burden to relate the basic truth from God’s Word about how to become a disciple of Jesus. That includes how to enter into that life. Though thankful to God for the “information” supernaturally preserved and passed down through the ages in the written Word, I also know that our God, who is Spirit, wants us to have revelation in our hearts and minds of that information so that we may be released to worship Him “in sprit and in truth,” (John 4:24) and thus live by the power of His Holy Spirit.

May His truth “cut us to the heart”, and may we each search our hearts to see if that hunger and thirst for righteousness is there to motivate us daily to pursue our Holy God in this manner to which He calls us. It makes all the difference in our daily lives and in how we live; and it qualifies us to willingly give of ourselves by the spirit.  This brings blessing and honor to our Lord.

Jesus is the Light in the dark times in which we live! Let us learn to be awake and alert and to walk in that light and never be satisfied to remain in a spiritual stupor and stumble in the darkness and chaos of mere “information”.

  1. This is really lovely — the way you gracefully speak of seeking God and being led by the spirit. So beautiful. Such truth. –Godspeed, Elizabeth
