Tapestry of HOPE: Part 1

I am a simple woman who knows that JESUS CHRIST in me is my ONLY “hope of glory!” I have none other. Many diverse threads of time and circumstance have been woven into the tapestry of my life for over 63 years. My life, like some of yours is “A story of love and of pain…Bittersweet threads He took in His Hand…but only the Glory remains!” The Lord gave me these words several years ago as He put a song in my heart…written to encourage a very dear friend; but because these words are true to all who will surrender their hearts and lives to Him., they are words of spirit and life that give us HOPE…even in difficult and uncertain times!

The Scriptures teach a wondrous “hidden truth” in Colossians 1:26-28, “The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but NOW has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is CHRIST IN YOU…the HOPE OF GLORY! Him, we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus!”

Hope is a precious thing to a person in need…to one in danger or peril, or uncertainty. Simply put, it is expectation of future good…and it is one of the three most important biblical doctrines…”faith, hope, and love…but the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13.

Hope may not be the greatest, but it is very close to love. I believe we would never be able to receive the Love of God, if first, we did not hope for it…and then have faith…believing that God, who IS LOVE….created us to live in it.

I often write to readers and friends this wisdom that has comforted me so in my own life: “There is never a moment when the Father is not loving you. Melt into the His warm arms….and enjoy the wonder of being received!” This gives HOPE!

Faith begins with the all important action of…HOPE! If one is “hope-less”, discouraged, depressed, down and in despair, feeling all alone…recognizing their need and desire for a change….one must, first, hold fast to that desire for “future good.” Cleave to the hope that there IS a God in Heaven who made you; and desire to come to know Him personally, and more intimately,  so that you can learn to live the life of “faith, hope, and love”, He created YOU to live….to find your purpose and future in Him…even in these uncertain times.

Jeremiah 29:11-12 gives us the promise of that “future and a hope“, but this is not just the normal future that all people have if they make it to the “golden years”, nor it is an ordinary promise of hope for what is referred to as “the good life” here on earth. No, God’s words are “spirit and they are life”! (John 6:63) And the words in His mouth have the power to PRODUCE.

We remember that our God “spoke” in Genesis, and the world came into being. This same Creator is speaking powerful words over us, His people, promising us an “expected end” that is Eternal and Everlasting! And a GOOD one, at that!  We must allow God to open our spiritual “eyes” to see the distance!  To lengthen the view of the life  of  “faith, hope, and love”,  HE has set before us, His people.
