May Our Learning BEAR FRUIT!

“Hear me when I call. You have delivered me from my distress. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer!  I will both lie down in peace and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety!” Psalm 4: 1 & 8

“Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am weak. O Lord, heal me, for my bones are troubled. My soul also is greatly troubled, but You, O Lord…how long? I am weary with my groaning.  All night I make my bed swim; I drench my couch with my tears. My eye wastes away because of grief. It grows old because of all my enemies.” Psalm 6: 2-3 & 6-7

As a modern people in a prosperous nation who, until 9-11, knew little desperation as a people, we need to learn a secret from our predecessor, King David, the writer of Psalms.   Challenges and troubles come in many forms, some national, some personal; but all may have the same outcome if we will, in our desperation, cry out in prayer unto the God of David, the Lord of our souls. Our cry must be one of faith that “HE HEARS”, and we must believe that He is working to bring His will into play in our lives, personally.

God promises nothing to the unbeliever…except that He will save him from his sins through Jesus Christ. But He promises much to all those who are His people…if we will but cry to Him…from our hearts! Let go of all pride and apathy…lift up your heart unto the Lord and cry out to Him!  He, alone, is your Salvation!  May we cling to Him who knows us best and loves us most! Such honest cries will bring forth growth that bears fruit!

Growing in grace and knowledge of Him is designed by our Holy, All Wise God, to insure godly change in our everyday lives, drawing us progressively into the reality of a holy lifestyle! Such a lifestyle WILL make a difference in the environment into which it is placed…this world. Such a life will fulfill the Great Commission by going and making disciples of Jesus Christ, teaching them to DO the things which He has taught us through the life we live daily before them.

ALL THIS is an outgrowth of knowing God’s word. To know scripture as a teen, we MUST have a deeper understanding of the Bible than a child. To know it in a maturing way as an adult, we must study to be able to rightly divide the Word of Truth. It must drop the 18″ from our head…to our heart and become revelation knowledge to our heart and soul so that the change is evident in our daily lives. To reach this goal of spiritual growth, we must fulfill God’s plan which will enable us to “see for ourselves” what the Spirit “is saying” to us, as part of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Let us not be like those in 2 Timothy 3:7 who are “ever learning but never coming to a knowledge of the truth!” Let us truly “look to Jesus…the Way, the Truth, and the Life” with humbled hearts so that He can continuously “teach us what we do not see” day by day, receiving correction that will bring us into a knowledge of the Truth in every area of our lives.

May our learning BEAR FRUIT!  May our lives clearly show that Jesus has been and IS at work in our lives…conforming us to His same image in nature and character! May others clearly see that we are “like Him” by the way we live our lives…being a witness of His resurrection in Spirit and in Truth!

DETERMINATION: Working intently to accomplish goals regardless of the opposition.

“Jesus Christ is the SAME…yesterday, today, and forever!” Hebrews 13:8

Looking unto JESUS,

Sandy
