WAIT TRAINING: Part 6, Inward FIRE and Deepening DESIRE

There is no built-in motivation included in rules of law to affect real or lasting change!  The will to obey is not found anywhere in the law. The power to conform or call for lasting change…simply is not present in the law itself.   Rather, the motivating force that has the power to transform believers into the image and likeness of Jesus Christ is found in another realm…the realm of spirit…where eternal LOVE resides.  The impetus for an about-face change is found in a burning love for Jesus Christ and a wholehearted commitment and devotion to Him and His Kingdom.  striking-a-matchThese things strike the match that lights the inward fire and deepening desire to BE like Jesus!  For this only do we willingly submit ourselves to corrective training and make the necessary sacrifices that bring about real and lasting change and transformation in our character, behavior, and lives overall. This active passion for Jesus is fueled by daily times of prayer and fellowship in His Presence.  The fire of desire for progressive and continual change must be kept burning and alive in us!

We must willingly humble ourselves and yield ourselves to divine order and discipline to keep the fire of God burning in our lives.  Proper motivation from within must be regularly fueled so that the fire of desire to follow Jesus in spirit and in truth will not go out!  This is a Biblical principle we are not to overlook in our times of fellowship with the Lord; for it is a matter of urgency to Him, and one to which we must give priority.  Notice this principle recorded in the Book of Leviticus!

150943_430782643662290_288041493_n“The fire on the altar must be kept burning it must not go out!  Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it.  The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously!  It must not go out!”  Leviticus 6:12-13 NIV

Such Old Testament examples remind us how seriously the priests of that day took the commands of God.  We dare not do any less, and must be careful to not neglect to great salvation as we have been provided by the holy sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Our lives are the altar of God’s fire in this hour, and we are to be continuously burning with desire to live holy and pure lives for our Master.  Anything short of that is to not fulfill His purpose or to build the Kingdom of God “on earth as it is in Heaven! ” Matthew 6:10

Testimony of burning hearts continued in the pages of Luke 24 when the two who walked with Him on the road to Emmaus spoke saying, “Did not our hearts burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?” (verse 32)

Do not let the spiritual fire in your heart go out!  Do not even allow it to burn low…but rather fuel it daily by “adding the firewood of obedience” by being “doers of the Word of God“. (James 1:22).  Train yourselves to “wait upon the Lord” in all things!  “Be still and KNOW that He is God!”  Let the white hot love of God burn within your heart and allow it to be your motivation – the deepening desire that causes you to chose Jesus and His ways in all thing!
